How to Edit and Enable Maintenance Reminder Campaigns

Remind customers of routine maintenance to keep your bays full with Steer's Maintenance Reminders. Utilize the pre-configured reminders or create your own!

What Are Maintenance Reminders?

Maintenance Reminder Campaigns allow your shop to remind customers that their vehicle is due for routine services, such as oil changes. You may also know them as Recommended Services (the term used in our legacy platform, Mechanic Advisor).

If your shop is looking to send out follow-ups for recommend services declined at a previous visit, please refer to the  "How to Create and Edit Deferred Services" article.

How to Customize Service Name, Service Intervals, What's Included Text, and Create New Services:

  1. Settings.
  2. Communication.
  3. Maintenance Reminders.
  4. Click "Go to Tenant Settings"
  5. Click "Add Service" to add a service reminder or click on an existing service to edit. There are 4 fields to configure:
    • Service Category Name: This is the name of the service that will show in Campaigns and on the customer's Vehicle Profile page.
    • Source: This is how we Steer will find when the service was last performed on the vehicle. The invoice can be scanned for Keywords or for Parts. Choose one and then add as many keywords or brands/parts as you would like. If multiple keywords or parts are added the invoice only needs to include one for the service to be considered performed. Steer only scans paid invoices.
    • What's Included: This is extra information displayed to the customer in the reminder email and on the vehicle profile page to tell them what will be included when the service is performed.
    • Custom Interval: This determines how often you recommend a service be performed. For example if the interval is 60 days and the service is performed on May 1st, the service will become due again on June 30th.
