How to Enable Website Chat
To use the AutoOps Website Chat tool you must first have the following prerequisites:
- Be subscribed to AutoOps Pro
- Have a phone number 10dlc registered with The Campaign Registry for 2-way texting. If you're already using Steer we can skip this step!
- Have a Steer CRM login
We'll help you get all of these set-up. Ready to start using Website Chat? Reach out to our team to start the process:
- Contact your Account Manager.
- Reach out via Live Chat in the AutoOps or Steer Help Center .
- Click the "?" in the lower right when logged in to the AutoOps Dashboard.
- Click "Chat With Us" and let us know you would like to to enable Website Chat and sign-up for AutoOps Pro if you haven't already.
Our team will get you set-up with a 10dlc phone number, Steer CRM login, and let you know once Website Chat is ready for you to customize!
How to Customize My Website Chat Widget
Note: In order for the Website Chat Widget to appear on your website, you must have the AutoOps Scheduling Tool embedded on your website. The Website Chat Widget will appear on all pages the AutoOps Scheduling Tool is present on.
> Login to the AutoOps Dashboard.
> Click the "General" Tab on the Left Navigation.
> Click "Web Chat."
On this page you are able to customize multiple features of the Website Chat Widget.
Auto Show Button
Toggling this setting on and clicking "Save" will make the Website Chat LIVE on your website.
This setting allows you to customize when the Website Chat Button shows for your customers when they visit your website.
We recommend having the button auto show after 1 sec to provide the option for live chat as soon as the customer visits your website.
Auto Open Chat
This setting allows you to set the Website Chat to automatically open as a customer visits your website.
Button Alignment
Select the position of the Website Chat Button on your website.
Branding Features
- Header/Button Color- customize the color of your Website Chat Button and Chat Header.
- Text Color - customize the text color of your Website Chat Widget
- Header Avatar - customize the avatar image that appears in the header of the Website Chat Widget.
- Titles and Text

- Success Title

Be sure to SAVE your changes!
Where Can I Find Website Chat Messages?
To find your Website Chat messages you will need to login to your Steer Dashboard.
> Navigate to "Messages" on the left navigation.
> Click "Text Messages"
Here you will see messages customers have sent via the Website Chat, click into a message thread to respond.
