How to Target Customers with an Outstanding Quote

Utilize Steer's Quote Filters to Return Revenue to Your Shop.

Steer's quote filters allow you to follow up with customers and encourage them to book an appointment to satisfy an outstanding quote.

Days Since Quote - Capture customers who received a quote within a certain day range.

Quote Date - Capture customers who received a quote on a specific date.


Follow the steps below to begin targeting lost revenue!

Step 1: Build Your Customer Lists 


We will be building three Dynamic Lists. This is to ensure we are targeting customers with quotes who did not follow through and excluding customers who did follow through

  1. Login to Steer.
  2. From the Dashboard, click Customers.
  3. Click Filters, then select Advanced Filters.

List 1 - Enable Days Since Quote Filter

Recommended range: 0 - 30, captures customers who received a quote in the past 30 Days 

  1. Click Quotes.
  2. Switch the Days Since Quote toggle to On.
  3. Add a value range (i.e. 0-30).
  4. Click Show Results.
  5. Select Filters again after reviewing the list, then click New Dynamic Group.
  6. Add a group name (i.e. 0-30 Days Since Quote), then click Save.

List 2 - Enable Days Until Appointment Filter (Appointments)

Excludes customers who have an upcoming appointment for their quote.

Recommended range: 0 - 30, captures customers who have an upcoming appointment scheduled within the next 30 Days

  1. Click Appointments.
  2. Switch the Days Until an Appointment toggle to On.
  3. Add a value range (i.e. 0-30).
  4. Click Show Results.
  5. Select Filters again after reviewing the list, then click New Dynamic Group.
  6. Add a group name (i.e. 0-30 Days Until Appointment), then click Save.

List 3 - Enable Days Since Last Visit Filter (Customer Visits)

Excludes customers who completed a recent appointment for their quote.

Recommended range: 0 - 30, captures customers who had a visit in the past 30 days to satisfy a quote.

  1. Click Customer Visits.
  2. Switch the Days Since Last Visit toggle to On.
  3. Add a value range (i.e. 0-30).
  4. Click Show Results.
  5. Select Filters again after reviewing the list, then click New Dynamic Group.
  6. Add a group name (i.e. 0-30 Days Since Last Visit), then click Save.

Step 2: Set Up Your Follow-Up Segment

  1. Click Campaigns, then select Active.
  2. Under Follow-Up Campaigns, click New Segment.

  3. Add a name for your campaign segment (i.e. Quote Given, No Appointments Made).

  4. Click Select Customer Group to choose the lists you made in Step 1.
    1. Include: Days Since Quote List
    2. Exclude: Days Until Appointment List and Days Since Last Visit List

  5. Click Save.

Step 3: Set Up your Campaign

  1. From Active Campaigns, click New Campaign under your previously created Follow-Up segment.
  2. Select and customize your template.

There are preloaded templates in Steer for Quote Campaigns, including both Text and Email Marketing Types. Use one of our templates or create one of your own! 


3. Add a campaign name (i.e. Quote Given – No Appointment Made).

4. Select when you want to send your campaign and the type: One Time or Repeat. 

We recommend Repeat Campaign, No End Date, Repeat Every 1 Day. This will allow Steer to work in the background for you, targeting customers with outstanding quotes.

5. Click Launch Campaign.


You are now on your way to recovering lost revenue with Steer!
