How to Send an Anniversary Campaign

Nurture customer relationships and build loyalty by celebrating customer anniversaries. A simple text or email can go a long way in showing how much your shop cares.

Steer's First Visit filters allow you to connect with customer's and celebrate the anniversary of them choosing to use your shop. 

Days Since First Visit - Capture customers who had their First Visit within a certain day range.

First Visit Date - Capture customers who had their First Visit on a specific date.


Follow the steps below to begin targeting lost revenue!

Step 1: Build Your Customer Lists 


We will be building one Dynamic List to ensure we are targeting customers on their proper First Visit anniversary. 

  1. Login to Steer.
  2. From the Dashboard, click Customers.
  3. Click Filters, then select Advanced Filters.

Enable Days Since First Visit Filter

Recommended range: 365 - 366, captures customers who had their First Visit 1 year ago, accounts for Leap Year. (ex. 730 - 731 for 2 years since first visit)

  1. Click Customer Visits.
  2. Switch the Days Since First Visit toggle to On.
  3. Add a value range (i.e. 365-366).
  4. Click Show Results.
  5. Select Filters again after reviewing the list, then click New Dynamic Group.
  6. Add a group name (i.e. 1 Year Since First Visit), then click Save.

Step 2: Set Up Your Follow Up Segment

  1. Click Campaigns, then select Active.
  2. Under Follow Up Campaigns, click New Segment.

  3. Add a name for your campaign segment (i.e. Anniversary Campaign).

  4. Click Select Customer Group to choose the list you made in Step 1.

 5.      Click Save.

Step 3: Set Up your Campaign

  1. From Campaigns, click New Campaign under your previously created segment.
  2. Select and customize your template.

There are preloaded templates in Steer for Anniversary Campaigns, including both Text and Email Marketing Types. Use one of our templates or create one of your own! 


3. Add a campaign name (i.e. Anniversary Campaign).

4. Select when you want to send your campaign and the type: One Time or Repeat. 

We recommend Repeat Campaign, No End Date, Repeat Every 1 Day. This will allow Steer to work in the background for you each day, targeting customers who reach 1 Year Since First Visit.

5. Click Launch Campaign.


Your campaign is now active and working in the background to nurture customer relationships for you!
