How to Customize the Review Request Email Template and Text Survey Token

By default, Steer's Review Request text campaigns land on Steer's Survey with Review Buttons (using the token {reviewSurvey.url}). This landing page allows your shop to drive customer feedback to the review source you prefer. The included survey encourages customers to give feedback directly to your shop.

How to Edit the Review Sources in the Review Request Email Template

How to Edit the Review Sources in the Review Request Email Template

Navigate to:

> Campaigns

> Active

> Follow-Up Campaigns

> Review Requests

1. Click the three dots to the right of the Off/On toggle. 

2. Click "Edit Email"

3. Click "Edit Template" in the upper right above the email preview.

4. Click the "Blocks" section in the email template builder. 

  • There are pre-built buttons for Google, Yelp, and Facebook.  
  • The "Share your feedback button" directs customers to the {survey.url} token. Click Here to view how to customize your Steer survey.

5. Simply drag and drop which Review Sources you would like include in your email over to the email template.

            A. To delete a Review Source, click on the source in the template, and click the trash can icon.

6. Save your changes.

 

 

The {reviewSurvey.url} token can be utilized in your Review Request Text Campaign. You are able to customize the contents of this survey. Read below to learn how to customize Review Sources and Additional Questions.

How to Customize Review Sites

Navigate to:

> Settings
> Widgets

> Surveys

1. Ensure you are on Survey W/ Review Buttons {reviewSurvey.url} in the upper right.

2. Under Review Buttons #1, select Google, Yelp, Facebook, or all three for your customer's to choose from when leaving a review. 

    • To utilize a review source, your review source tokens must be configured.

3. Customize the "Question" and "Secondary Text" your customer's will see when viewing the review request.

4. Click "Publish New Widget Settings" to save your customizations. 

Utilize the {reviewSurvey.url} token in your campaigns to direct customers to your newly customized review request. 

    • If you are already utilizing this token in a campaign, clicking "Publish New Widget Settings" will update the template for any campaigns utilizing the {reviewSurvey.url} token. 

How to Customize Additional Review Survey Questions

Customize and add Simple Questions that prompt the customer to leave feedback that funnels directly into Steer. These questions can be added in addition to your review sources. 

Navigate to:

> Settings
> Widgets

> Surveys

1. Ensure you are on Survey W/ Review Buttons {reviewSurvey.url} version in the upper right.

2. Scroll down to see Simple Question #1.

3. Choose between three question types when adding questions:
    •  Review Buttons
    • Simple Question
    • Linear Scale

4. Customize the Question(s) customers see when viewing the review request survey.

    • Customize Question Language and Secondary Text
    • Make Questions Required 
    • Select whether, or not, to include the question in the Survey W/ Review Buttons {reviewSurvey.url} version

5. Click "Publish New Widget Settings" to save your customizations. 

Utilize the {reviewSurvey.url} token in your campaigns to direct customers to your newly customized review request. 

    • If you are already utilizing this token in a campaign, clicking "Publish New Widget Settings" will update the template for any campaigns utilizing the {reviewSurvey.url} token.
