Enabling Dark Mode for Steer

Utilize the Dark Reader Browser Extension to customize Dark Mode for Steer and other websites to reduce strain on your eyes.

 

Dark Reader is a third party browser extension that assists with changing webpages to Dark Mode. Steer is not officially affiliated with Dark Reader in any capacity, nor responsible for the functions of the extension. Dark Reader is a FREE extension, you do not have to pay to use Dark Reader; they do accept payments/donations if you feel inclined. The ads on the Dark Reader website help generate their revenue for their free extension; we do not recommend clicking on any of the ads.

How to add the Dark Reader Extension to Google Chrome:

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Click here to navigate to the Dark Reader Extension in the Chrome Web Store.
  3. Click Add to Chrome > Click Add on the popup to confirm.

Note: Dark Reader is a crowd-funded extension. After adding the extension to your browser you may be directed to Dark Reader's FAQ Page which will suggest payment for using Dark Reader. You do not have to pay to use Dark Reader; however paying does support the functions and updates provided by the extension. No actions are needed on this page; you can close this page out. 

How to Enable the Dark Reader Extension for All Websites:

Follow the steps below to utilize Dark Reader for all webpages you visit using your browser. If you would like to enable Dark Reader for specific sites only, click here

  1. After adding the extension to Chrome > Open a New Tab.
  2. In the New Tab, navigate to steercrm.com > Login to your Steer Account.
  3. In the Upper Right of your Chrome Browser, click the Extensions Icon .extension icon
  4. Click on the Dark Reader Extension > Toggle ON.

Note: Dark Reader settings are preset to apply Dark Mode for all webpages once the toggle is enabled ON. This is a manual toggle that can be turned on and off; once toggled ON it will remain on until manually toggled OFF.

How to Enable Dark Reader Extension for Specific Sites Only:

If you prefer to have Dark Reader be enabled for specific websites, not all websites, follow the steps below. In order to customize which sites you want Dark Reader to enable Dark Mode on, you will need to disable the default Dark Reader settings that enable the extension automatically on all websites. 

  1. Click the Dark Reader Extension in the Upper Right of your browser. 
  2. Click Configure Website Toggling (Upper Left Beneath current site URL).
  3. Click the Check Mark beside Enable by Default > X confirms this setting is disabled. 
  4. Dark Reader will now need to be enabled on specific sites and will not automatically enable for websites. Continue to Step 5 to learn how to add specific websites for Dark Reader to automatically enable dark mode on.

 5. Navigate to steercrm.com > Login to your Steer account.

 6. Click the Dark Reader Browser Extension in the Upper Right of your browser tab.

 7. Click the Website URL to the left of the Toggle Switch. A checkmark will appear beside the Website URL in this box and the website will now be in Dark Mode. 

 8. To confirm a website is included to have Dark Mode automatically enabled click Site List > Inverted Listed Only, here you will see your included sites for automatic Dark Mode.

 9. Repeat the following steps for any websites you would like to include for Dark Reader to automatically enable Dark Mode when you visit the website. 

 10. To exclude a site from entering Dark Mode simply click the Website URL to the left of the Toggle Switch and an X will appear. This website is now excluded from Dark Mode and will show on the Not Invert Listed in the extension.
